Today I’m combing through the old camera roll to bring you five of my top rave moments that I’ve ever captured on video. Not included are all the incredible times where I was too busy living in the moment to be filming!

Moving chronologically, we’ll start out with the 2023 edition of Strawberry Fields festival, where I caught Scottish legend Denis Sulta. To say I absolutely ascended when he dropped the iconic horn instrumentals of Alex Gaudino’s Destination Calabria is an understatement (“I haven’t heard this in forever!”). As you can see, Australian festival crowds are known for wielding heaps of creative totems, which they affectionately call “doof sticks”.

Next up is the 2024 Let Them Eat Cake festival, which used to take place each year at the stunning Werribee Mansion grounds on New Year’s Day outside of Melbourne. There I caught this clip of BICEP as they played the Overmono remix of Hackney Parrot by Tessela during the sunset slot. The most mesmerizing and unique part of this set was that as twilight descended, massive grey-headed flying foxes took flight from the surrounding trees over the stage. 

In May of 2024, I was fortunate enough to catch Melbourne native Pretty Girl’s headliner live set at the historic venue the Forum. The energy in the room was incredible, as this was the largest live set she’d played to date in her hometown. This dreamy clip is of one of her earliest ever releases, Message. Thankfully for me, Pretty Girl is now based in the UK, where I catch both her live shows and DJ sets as often as I can.

Moving on to the UK, in October 2024 I journeyed to Manchester to catch a slew of incredible artists playing alongside headlining act Overmono at the Warehouse Project. This was the first opportunity I had to see Joy Orbison, who I quickly came to realize is one of the best in the game in the UK electronic scene right now. Not only did he win Best DJ in the 2024 DJ Mag Best of British awards, but his tune Flight FM also won Best Track and I was lucky enough to capture it that night.

Last but not least, this clip is from the 2025 edition of Lost Village festival in the Northern English countryside. This festival is known for its high-quality production, with each stage having a different theme. DJ Seinfeld played an absolutely packed set at the Junkyard stage, decorated with burned out cars, mannequins, lampshades, and old cassette tapes dangling from the treetops. It’s hard to choose one highlight from this set, but I think it was the moment he dropped SOPHIE’s legendary track Immaterial. If you’re keen, the full set is available on YouTube!
